***PAY UP BIRDMAN*** #CelebNews Jas Prince (The Guy Who Signed Drake) Tells Birdman To Pay Up Soon [VIDEO]

Jas Prince WARNS Birdman to pay up my Drake fee now! Via HipHopWired: Of the many people alleging that Birdman owes them money, Jas Prince appears to be most reserved. But, more often than not, those are the ones you should worry about.

TMZ spotted Prince, the son of Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince, and the person credited with discovering Drake, outside of Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. There, he revealed that he’s yet to speak with Birdman.

“No more calls. We do talking one time,” Prince said, referencing threats his fathered issued to the Cash Money Records co-founder earlier this month.

The younger Prince says he’s owed over $2 million dollars, which, given similar accusations by rappers Lil Wayne and Turk, and a history of rumored shady practices at Cash Money, sounds like Birdman’s chickens will soon come to roost. Hear Prince speak in the footage below.

#CelebNews Erykah Badu Makes Classic Cameo On News While Stranded AtAirport!

Many love Erykah Badu's fun free spirit. In fact people love it even more when she randomly speaks her mind to the public. Erykah Badu is (almost) everyone’s favorite and the Grammy Award-winning star showed how clever mind can make even the most of downtrodden situations better.

Dallas has been hit with some rather nasty weather as of late, prompting schools and airports to be shut down as the winter storm passes over. Badu was heading to Los Angeles, but of course, her flight was canceled like the rest of the passengers. When the local CBS News 11 grabbed her for a quickie interview, she had jokes for days in lieu of her vacant “Window Seat.”

“It’s hard out here for a pimp, you know?,” she said, referencing the unforgettable song from Hustle & Flow, as well as her trademarked top hat and fur coat wardrobe. “I’m just trying to get to Los Angeles. I just have to wait a little bit longer.”

“Everything’s closed,” she continued, rattling off all the top institutions in the area. “Badu’s school is open, though,” she quipped.

At as the reporter concluded his segment, Badu waved to the cameras and mouthed the words, “Hey mom.” You gotta love it. Take a look at Badu’s entertaining interview below.

***MUST READ*** #CelebNews Zendaya Responds To Giuliana Rancic Offensive Comments About Her Faux Locs

Recently actress Zendaya bravely wore faux locs to the 2015 Oscars. Despite how beautiful she looked Fashion Police decided to poke fun at the hairstyle disrespectfully. Twitter and many around the world didn't find the so called "jokes" funny. Via HipHopWired: Wearing your hair in dreadlocks does not mean you smoke weed, but apparently E! host Giuliana Rancic didn’t get the memo. After dropping wildly offensive commentary aimed at Zendaya Coleman’s hair, the actress clapped back and checked Rancic for her ignorance. Coleman was rocking Marley locks/faux locs on the Oscar red carpet, which led to the E!’s Fashion Police Oscars co-host “joke” that the Disney actress smelled like patchouli oil and weed.
Part of the statement/letter Coleman dropped via her Twitter account last night (Feb 23) read, “To say that an 18 year old [sic] woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or “weed” is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive.” Pretty much. Rancic has already copped pleas, apologizing to Coleman (via Twitter) and saying that she was only referring to “a bohemian chic look” look.

Check out a clip of Rancic’s diarrhea of the mouth below!

Epic reunions been happening the past couple years with OutKast uniting for festival tours and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony this year for their tour just to name some. Well Funkmaster Flex revealed he is working on something people been wanting for over 10years. Via HipHopWired: Funkmaster Flex played an integral role in The Diplomats reunion and upcoming tour. But his efforts to reunite Hip-Hop groups we all know and love don’t end there.

While discussing work with Dipset exclusively with Hip-Hop Wired, the famed DJ managed to sneak in that The Fugees are also on his radar as far as reunions go. If Flex is successful, the best case scenario of a proper Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Pras reunion would be their first album since delivering The Score, a certified classic, back in 1996.

The Hot 97 personality also has something big planned with Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Troy Ave, and newcomer Fetty Wap. Hear Flex speak about all of the below in the clip.

***MAKING HISTORY*** #CelebNews Common & John Legend Take Home Best Original Song Oscar For “Glory” [Photos]

Like predicted, Selma did not win Best Picture at the 2015 Academy Awards. However, the favorite to win Best Original Song was from the Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic and Common and John Legend are now Oscar winners courtesy of their triumphant duet, ““Glory.”

The longtime collaborators were chosen to perform their record at the 87th Annual event and they didn’t disappoint in the slightest; staging their performance on the Edmond Pettus Bridge, the battleground of the bloody Civil Rights standoff which is highlighted in the film. The vivid musicianship brought the entire audience to their feet–and many to tears–as Star Trek actor Chris Pine’s observation has since went viral.
During an interview for Selma with Hip-Hop Wired, Common expressed how creating the song was almost like second nature, seeing that he knew Dr. King’s story so much, his heart and soul pumped into the track. His sentiments proved to more than just an opinion as the song recently won a Golden Globe Award in January. Now Common and John Legend have been immortalized into the Academy Awards history books for the rest of days.

***PAYING HIS LAST DUES*** #CelebNews Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late Reportedly Counts Towards Cash Money Obligation

Drake surprise mixtape album debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200. It’s being heavy speculated that Drake is ready to wash his hands of Cash Money Records and the latest report from owner KP is only fueling the rumors.

Coming off the heels of his wildly successful “mixtape,” If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, KP is telling HipHopDX that the new offering actually works in his favor towards his contractual obligation with the label.

“Originally we were in talks to release it for free…and have DJ Drama host and even make it an official Gangsta Grillz…however the label was not in favor of that and they struck an agreement to release the project the retail route and it would count towards one of his albums,” KP tells HipHopDX. Early speculation buzzed with the notion that If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late was Drake’s last project with the label, but reps for the Canadian megastar debunked that rumor.

“It was a mutual decision since he wanted to give it away. They [the label] said, ‘Hell no,’ not in those words, so they ‘agreed’ to do it this way as a middle ground and it would count towards his Cash Money deal album total,” KP continues. “The label had zero input or creative control over If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.” KP goes on to reveal how the decision to make the release retail happened “about two to three weeks ago when the release plans and label decision was up in the air.”

Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is already halfway towards platinum status just a week after its February 12 release with 541,585 digital downloads (including streams) sold.

If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is currently available on iTunes and Spotify.

***ARE YOU SERIOUS?!*** #CelebNews Geraldo Rivera Says Hip-Hop Ruined Black Lives More Than Racism [VIDEO]

We at came across this story and had to share. Our Hip-Hop culture needs big voices speaking about the saving of black lives the culture has done verses OUT-OF-TOUCH mainstream people speaking of the opposite.

Via HipHopWired: Geraldo Rivera has offered a series of strong opinions publicly in times past, usually at the expense of Black people and behavior he didn’t approve of. The Fox News contributor was up to his old tricks again after stating in an interview that Hip-Hop has caused more harm to Black and Brown lives than racism.

Rivera was a guest on HuffPost Live Tuesday (Feb. 17), and the journalist dished about his appearance on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice program among other things. Rivera, who shared that he’s been at his gig for 45 years, shared his past relationship with the show’s host Donald Trump and his desire to jump into reality television.

When host Josh Zepps asked Rivera about his political affiliation, Rivera named himself a “militant moderate” and shot off some bullet points proving his stances. But it was his views on Hip-Hop culture that proved to be the most alienating and pointed.

From HuffPost:
“Hip-hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the last 10 years,” Rivera began. The Fox News contributor then challenged anyone to find “a youngster — a Puerto Rican from the South Bronx or a black kid from Harlem who has succeeded in life other than being the one-tenth of one-tenth of one percent that make it in the music business — that’s been a success in life walking around with his pants around his ass and with visible tattoos…”
Rivera added that the most powerful men in hip-hop are responsible for pushing young minorities too far out of the dominant culture.

***GIRL CHILL!*** #CelebNews Azealia Banks Gets Into It With ErykahBadu On Twitter [Photos]

It's one thing to come for Iggy but to come at a Queen veteran in the game is another! Many admire Azealia Banks for being so out spoken but recently many felt she may have put her foot in her mouth. Via HipHopWired:Apparently no one is off limits to Azealia Banks. The Harlem rapper got into it with Erykah Badu on Twitter (Feb. 14) today for critiquing her music. Actually, the comment wasn’t even that bad. Badu simply said that she “tried” to get into the 23-year-old’s music. She took it as “shade” and ultimately, “jealousy” on Badu’s end. Banks took shots and Badu’s head wraps, and other childish targets she could think of. Crazy that all of this happened because of a tweet.
  1. Tried “@pradahungry: Does @fatbellybella listen to azealia banks? Always wanted to know”
@fatbellybella @pradahungry lol, what's the shade?

  1. Tried “@pradahungry: Does @fatbellybella listen to azealia banks? Always wanted to know”
@fatbellybella ..... Jealousy.

Whether or not you like me... You are WATCHING, and that's what's most important.
